Kim Maguire, Meg McLynn, and Caitlin Frances started out together as a Maguire Sisters tribute group, backed by the Purple Pheonix Orchestra. Then, in 2019, they decided to expand their repertoire to include The Andrew Sisters, The Boswell Sisters, and adapt more modern tunes into a jazz/pop feel with their own sense of style.
Working with a group of some of Seattle's top jazz musicians they grew a following and in 2022 Jazz Bassist Philip Demaree became their band leader. In the early part of 2025 Phil wrote arrangements for Sugartime Trio to perform with Critical Mass Big Band at The Royal Room in Seattle and they debuted their work together to a packed house in September of the same year.
This summer founding member Kim Maguire is stepping back from Sugartime Trio. So, we are onboarding 4 new singers! The same great music, same great sound, but with more singers to ensure we can reach a larger audience, continue to partner with local and regional big bands, and make more music. We are seeking support to re-brand, rehearse, and grow Sugartime Trio while keeping the joy of making music we love to share.
Thank you,
Sugartime
