Mission & Vision
Spark! Creativity's mission is to bridge the gap in arts education by making it accessible and available to youth for personal and professional growth. In response to widespread cuts across Washington state schools, including the Edmonds School District, we are launching two pilot programs—Teaching Artists in Schools and Youth Arts Camp/Pop-Up Workshops.

Our Programs
1. Teaching Artists in Schools: Co-creating partnerships between classroom teachers and local teaching artists to reintegrate art into core subjects. This program aims to foster deep engagement among students through arts education, enhancing their creative and critical thinking skills.
2. Youth Arts Camp/Pop-Up Workshops: Providing dedicated spaces for arts education outside traditional classroom settings. These programs offer immersive experiences and opportunities for creative expression, critical thinking, and problem-solving skill development for all students.

The Need & Our Response
With severe budget cuts threatening arts education in Washington state, especially in the Edmonds School District, there is an urgent need to provide alternative avenues for youth to access arts education. Our programs are designed to address these challenges by ensuring students have opportunities for creative and intellectual growth through the arts.

Our History
Spark! is a brand-new start-up created to combat the decline in arts education. Our efforts so far have focused on extensive research, identifying partner classroom educators and teaching artists, deeply connecting with the community, meeting with arts education leaders, seeking funding opportunities, and forming strategic partnerships with art suppliers. Based on this research, we have designed our two pilot programs to launch this year.

Strategic Priorities
1. In-Classroom Arts Education: Launch a pilot program at one school in the Edmonds School District by September 2025, aiming for 80% of participating students to show improved engagement and academic performance.
2. Evaluation and Feedback: Conduct surveys and interviews to assess the program's feasibility, effectiveness, and impact by June 2025. Creativity Spark!
3. Summer Arts Camp and Pop-Up Workshops: Launch a summer camp by August 2024 and continue pop-up workshops during school breaks. Evaluate feasibility and gather feedback by September 2024.
