The objective of this organization is to foster and promote female jazz artists, as well as community building and outreach to youth, seniors, LGBTQ and other under-served populations in Seattle and surrounding areas through jazz music. We continue that mission by supporting jazz artists who perform in a music genre that is not part of the mainstream and thus, grossly under-represented, in addition to offering an opportunity for the community to hear a music style that is largely unheard. It is also part of an effort to engage youth in the art of jazz and to reach out to potential audience members who do not get the same opportunities to attend performances and may not have ever attended a jazz concert or even listened to jazz before.
