Puckduction is Black and Queer owned performing arts production company based in the Seattle area. We are fiscally sponsored by Shunpike, a 501(c)3 arts non profit. Our programs are centered around providing space for marginalized performers and artists through the world of burlesque. Burlesque is an often misunderstood performance art that has heavily influenced popular culture throughout the years. From education to festivals to documentaries, Puckduction is committed to uplifting the art and culture of burlesque and empowering marginalized arts.

Our flagship event is
What the Funk?! An All BIPOC Burlesque Fest that we co-produce with the
Stay Up Late Show, yearly, at The Triple Door in downtown Seattle. Now heading into our fourth year, What the Funk's mission is to pay tribute to the Black American music genre of Funk while showcasing and honoring the artistry of Black, Indigenous and performers of color through the often overlooked performance art medium of Burlesque. We celebrate performers locally, nationally, and internationally through our three day festival. We hope to inspire, offer representation, and shine a spotlight on the creativity and talent found in the BIPOC Burlesque community.

Over the past years we have put over 100 BIPOC artists on stage and have served over 3,000 audience members. What the Funk returns August 24-26, 2023. Our documentary,
What the Funk: A Love Letter to the POC Community, had it's World Premiere on October 13, 2023 at the 27th Seattle Queer Film Festival.
Our newest festival is
Fatlesque Fest Northwest (FFNW) coming January 6-8, 2023. Fatlesque Fest Northwest is on a mission to disrupt perceptions surrounding burlesque while providing an art, culture, and entertainment experience through a fat liberation and body positive lens.
Our yearly gala is known as Queer Prom Seattle. Every June we create the prom you never knew you always wanted! Featuring burlesque, drag, and comedy performances, a dance party, and the crowning of our Queer Monarch. Now heading into our 4th year.

#ShowTHEM Burlesque Basics is an 8-week intro to a burlesque journey through a BIPOC and Fat Liberation lens. We invite you to a burlesque basic program that will take you through the history of burlesque, character creation, movement, costuming, and finally a showcase of a complete burlesque act for your family, friends, and the Seattle burlesque community. With guest instructions from some of Seattle's most treasured performers, including a 1:1 with a guest instructor and auxiliary workshops.

At Puckduction we continue to find ways to make space for marginalized performers to create art and share it on stages all over Seattle, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond.
