Penguin Productions

Theater for a Thriving Community

Penguin Productions unites youth leadership and adult mentorship to co-create theater and cultivate a healthy, equitable, and thriving future.

We redefine and revitalize community theater. Making theater is hard. Collaborative storytelling is complex. Penguin Productions celebrates this complexity. We center stories that fuel our future with hope, resilience, interconnection, and joy.

We believe in a world where making theater matters. Where young people grow and discover, where professionals develop and deepen their craft, where collaboration, creativity and insight collide.

Whether theater is your life, or you try and squeeze it in where possible, Penguin works hard to make space for you. A space where thorny questions are a source of joy. Together, we build hope - celebrating, discovering, and creating work being done towards a shared vision of justice and joy.

Help us use theater to imagine and co-create a thriving future for all!

Our commitment to you:
  • Cost-free performance opportunities
  • Creativity, passion and empathy
  • Inclusive, equitable, diverse collaborations
  • Multi-generational creative adventures

"The culture you create brings out the best in each of us who participate."

"For many youth, you change the equation from failing to thriving."

"There aren't a lot of organizations that will take a chance on a young artist, that will say 'yes' to a strong idea and help make it happen."

"The show was smart, original, funny, and so well-done."

"...a community based on a strong vision of supporting kids and emerging adults through meaningful theater events."

"Thank YOU for the show. I have to say it was the most thoroughly entertaining political satire we’ve seen in a long time. You did a great job, integrating the whole spectrum of talent into a delightful show that hopped."

"There are lots of places to do theatre, but there aren't a lot of communities like this one."
