Help Mo' Motion Dance Keep Growing

We’re building something bigger than a dance studio.

Mo' Motion Dance started in September 2025 with 12 dancers, a vision, and a whole lot of heart. Seven months later, we're training over 30 young people in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and styles rooted in the African diaspora and we're just getting started.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Tacoma Black Fund, our studio barres and mirrors are fully funded. That chapter is closed. Now we're building toward what's next.

Our dancers show up every week ready to work. They learn technique, discipline, and what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves. But for some of our families, the cost of evening classes and summer camp puts consistent training just out of reach. And this June, our dancers take the stage for Steps to Higher Ground — our Stevie Wonder-inspired spring show — and we need to make sure they arrive ready.

We're raising funds for two things that matter right now:

Scholarships so that every dancer who wants to be here can be here, regardless of what their family can afford.

Production costs for Steps to Higher Ground (June 13–14) so our dancers can perform the way they've trained, with everything they need on that stage.

This is intentional training. This is community. And every dollar you give has a real place to go.

Every contribution is tax-deductible. Thank you for helping us build something lasting for young dancers in Tacoma.
