Stardust Big Band is the North Olympic Peninsula’s premier big band jazz ensemble made up of the top jazz musicians in the region. The roster includes veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces bands, the Port Angeles and Port Townsend Symphony Orchestras, music educators, and other professional musicians.
The group is led by Marge Rosen, conductor, trumpet player, music educator, arts administrator, and former US Navy musician. She is a founding member of Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra and was their Executive Director for eight years before moving to Port Angeles, WA.
With a full complement of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a swinging rhythm section, the 17-piece band presents vibrant renditions of the finest in big band jazz. The Stardust repertoire spans the era of American popular music from 1935 to the present.
A typical performance includes many beloved classics from swing era luminaries such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and many more. Tess Teel sings top hits from the Great American Songbook.
